 While it may seem strange, four-wheel drive is not standard with the 2018 Jeep Renegade. While all-wheel drive is an option, towing is not recommended on the basic, forward-wheel-drive model. The Jeep Renegade also has less cargo capacity than the Subaru Crosstrek, at only 50.8 cubic feet.

As for gas mileage, the four-wheel drive models only get 29 mpg on the highway and 21 in the city, making it far less economical than the Subaru Crosstrek.

As for safety, the Jeep Renegade received no top designations from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It also only has Blind-Spot and Cross-Path Detection available in one of six trims, the Renegade Limited FWD.
