Each year the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety makes it harder and harder to qualify for its prestigious Top Safety Pick awards. Its rigorous standards only encourage auto manufacturers to build safer vehicles. This year only 48 vehicles were able to garner the Top Safety Pick+ recognition. In other words, only 48 vehicles earned both good ratings in all IIHS crashworthiness evaluations and with its advanced safety preventative technologies.

Among these top safety contenders are six Subaru models.

Subaru set the bar high years ago when naming its sedan after the word "impressive". However, like its done time and time again, Subaru has managed to reach--if not exceed expectations--with its Subaru Impreza.

Provided its size in comparison to its lineup brethren, the Subaru Impreza could easily be overlooked. Don't let its rather compact size fool you because not only does it offer a decadent, spacious cabin but a genuine driving experience.

Though it may be one of the newer rides on the roster, that won't stop us at Gillman Subaru San Antonio from declaring the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek one of our favorites.
