Mission San Jose
The Mission San Jose , also known as the ‘Queen of the Missions,’ is the largest mission in San Antonio. Built of a Texas limestone and stucco, this mission is one you’ll want to see. Established in 1720, the Mission San Jose provided sanctuary and a community center for more than 300 Indians. When you visit, make sure to check out the Rose Window on the south wall of the church sacristy. The architecture and history will leave you in awe every time you visit.
Hours: Open Sunday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Natural Bridge Caverns
The Natural Bridge Caverns is one of the most beautiful places in San Antonio. Derived from the 60 foot natural limestone, the caverns are considered to be living. The temperature inside the cave remains 70 degree year-round and is almost 100 percent humidity. The waxy look is formed from when water enters the caverns and drips throughout. There are even undeveloped areas that are as deep as 230 feet under the surface. Seeing the Natural Bridge Caverns is spooky and inspiring!
Hours: The Discovery Tour departs every 40 minutes or sooner starting at 9 AM. Final tour departs at 6 PM.
