We know that there are plenty of drivers here in the San Antonio area who definitely have an interest in auto racing beyond NASCAR, and those drivers should be very familiar with the Isle of Man TT.

This annual race is held on the small spit of an island located between Ireland and England. It takes place on a legendary 37.75-mile mountain course. Just last week, the standing lap time record for the course was smashed by Mark Higgins as he drove a brand-new 2015 Subaru WRX STI around the entire track in just 19 minutes and 26 seconds.

This is what it looked like to see him speed by in the process of breaking the record:

Higgins also happened to be the holder of the previous record of 19 minutes 56 seconds that he achieved in another WRX back in 2011. Subaru officials confirmed that almost all the components of this race car were stock pieces that you would see in a model here in our showroom except for special springs needed to deal with hard landings.

Want to see this winning vehicle up-close and in person, then just make your way over to Gillman Subaru San Antonio and speak with our friendly staff. We are always willing to sit down and answer any questions you may have about the new Subaru models in our inventory.
